These questions will help you make the right decision when hiring a wedding planner in Puerto Rico. But first, let’s start with why!

Why do you need a wedding planner in Puerto Rico? I could think of a million reasons, but I’m just going to focus on one:

Planning a wedding sounds super fun, until you try to do it on your own.

The planning process of the most important day of your lives is meant to be enjoyed, not endured. Which is why God created wedding planners 🙂 I strongly believe there’s a wedding planner for each couple, and Puerto Rico is filled with some amazing planners. This being said, when searching for the perfect one, you wanna keep all of the important details in mind. For example…

“The cheapest choice” isn’t always “the best choice”

Don’t get me wrong, budget matters. However, if budget were the only thing on your mind when choosing your wedding planner, then you’re probably missing out on the whole point of hiring one. Also, let’s not forget that one of the great benefits of hiring a wedding planner is having someone help you make the most of your wedding budget. Even small decisions can add up to big savings when you have a planner who knows what they’re doing.

Average cost for hiring a wedding planner in Puerto Rico

The average cost for hiring a wedding planner in Puerto Rico can go from $1,500 to $5,000. Of course, pricing will depend on details such as: the event date, location, number of guests, budget and the type of service you’re interested in. So before even searching, make sure you know which service best suits your current needs. And remember…

Partial planning is not for everyone.

Most of Puerto Rico’s wedding planners offer both full planning and partial planning services. Full planning means they’ll basically take care of everything for you, from start to finish.

Whereas partial planning means that you’ll do most of the work while the planner focuses on the day of the event. Although partial planning may seem a lot more attractive in terms of pricing, it will only work if you have already hired some of the vendors, have a lot of free time in your hands and a flexible schedule. Which is why, most couples prefer full planning services, especially when it comes to destination weddings.

Being at a distance may seem like you’ll miss out on everything, but trust me; having the right planner will help ensure that you feel like you’re right here at “La Isla Del Encanto” being a part of the whole process.

So, why settle for a good wedding day when you can have an amazing wedding day and an unforgettable planning experience?

Here are some questions you might want to ask yourselves in order to know if the planner you’re considering is the right fit for you and your fiancé:

  • “Do our personalities match?”

The “click” is very important. Remember, this person will be your guide, help,    friend and confident and you’ll be constantly communicating with them. So chemistry between you guys it’s definitely a priority.

  • “Is she/he bilingual?”

Language matters. Make sure you choose someone that can easily communicate with you, your fiancé and with both of your families.

  • “Is he/she available?”

Being available for the wedding date is very important, but a response rate is also essential when hiring a planner. Believe me, you need someone who’ll be available to answer your questions and concerns in a 24-hour time frame, at the least.

  • “Does she/he have the experience we need?”

Each planner has their own background and experience in different areas. Maybe you’re looking for someone more experienced with beach weddings. Or maybe you’re interested in having someone that’s more experienced with weddings in Old San Juan. Make sure you choose someone with enough experience to handle the type of event your dreaming of.

  • “Does she/he seem honest?”

Honesty is the foundation of any good relationship and it isn’t the exception when it comes to choosing your planner. You need someone by your side that will be realistic when it comes to expectations and will tell you the truth, even when it isn’t what you want to hear.

  • “What about her/his planning structure?”

Structure is everything. If you’re gonna be trusting this person with your event, the least they can do is provide you with an organized planning structure that will ease your stress and keep you posted on everything as it goes.

Ready to make the best out of your wedding planning journey? I think you are, but if you still don’t feel like it… We got you! 🙂

PS: Don’t forget to share this valuable information with your favorite bride-to-be!

Until next time,
